Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an

The Mayas believe this is where the sky is born; from this idea it gets its name.
Declared Human Heritage by the UNESCO in 1987. Here we will find from paradise beaches to dolphins in their natural habitat and Marine Turtles.

 

     
  Coba and Tulum beaches

Coba means in Mayan “ Place of turbulent water”, and nowadays has the only pyramid that can still be climbed, giving the visitor a spectacular view from the top.
After all this exercise, what better than a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters of Tulum.
     
 

Rio Lagartos and Ek Balam

Rio Lagartos flows right into the area in which the Gulf of México and Caribbean Sea join, where it is admirable to see the waves that rest like elders tired from a long and tedious journey. Ek Balam, an archaeological site from the Classic Period meaning in Mayan “Black Jaguar”

     
 

Spelunking in Cenote dos Ojos and Xcacel Beach

Cenote dos ojos is really formed by two circular cenotes close to each other, from there its name, and joined by numerous underground caves. It is easy practice for snorkelling, without the need of being in possession of a scuba license.The beach at Xcacel is consider the “Marine Turtle Sanctuary” and is definitely worth a visit.

     
 

Chichén Itzá, Valladolid and cenote Samulá

You can’t leave without visiting the pyramid and surroundings at Chichen Itza, a refreshing swim in the peculiar Samula cenote and a coffee in the colonial plaza at Valladolid. A day full of culture and Mayan magnetism.

     
 

Muyil

The site at Muyil offers an interesting and interpretative track (called sac- be in Mayan) in order to get to know better the floral habitat and the animals that live in the area, as well as a bird observatory. Once we reach the lagoon, we will take a canoe trip across the crystalline water of the Chunyaxche lagoon and canals.

     
 

Ya'ax'che and monos araña

With the aim of preserving the regional flora this small but charming reserve was opened. It is the most important of the region due to the numerous flora varieties that can be found, and we will also be surprised with the different animals we will see, such as the “cereques” a type of rodent and specially the spider monkeys swinging from the branches.
